Preparing for the formative assessment:
* Read through your homeostasis and thermoregulation notes, summary sheets and powerpoints, as well as the 'Regulating body temperature' chapter in your textbook, taking your own notes as you do so.
* Process this information and check your understanding - are you able to describe the purpose and components of the system, explain the mechanism for how the components of the system work together, use the scenario of the formative to demonstrate how balance is re-established in extreme environmental conditions, and can you link these biological ideas (of maintaining a stable internal environment) to how external influences result in a breakdown of the system.
*Work through the videos that I have put on the site to gain a broader understanding.
* Put together a list of questions/points that you want to discuss in preparation for the class discussion on Friday (formative).
